CLASSES

Christopher's Clubhouse will once again offer our Safety Education classes as soon as

we are able to locate existing space to provide the program.

We are in need of a large multi-purpose type room to use as

the children run and practice the skills they learn.

Our classes are usually offered after school, for two hours each day for 5 days.

This is a 10-hour program that will provide children with the skills necessary

to avoid exploitation.

Please contact: mika@christophersclubhouse.org if you have available space for us.

Some Internet Safety Tips for Parents

One of the first things that parents need to do is learn about the Internet themselves and what your children like to do when online.

You need to know who they are talking with or communicating with, what games and programs they are using and what sort of access they might have in places outside of your home.

Parents need to set rules and establish guidelines for using the computer at home.  Make sure that the computer is in an area of the house with common access so that you can supervise your child's online habits.

Parents - please communicate with your child about going on the Internet.  Be positive as the Internet can be an exciting place as well as a valuable resource.  Make children aware of the potential risks that can exist online without being overly graphic.

National Missing Children's Day 2008

On May 25, 2008, Christopher's Clubhouse hosted an event at the Palm Desert Civic Center Park Amphitheater, called Take 25.  This was a free event that is held in cities nationwide to encourage families to take 25 minutes to talk to their children about safety.

With the help and support of many wonderful people and organizations in the Coachella Valley, we were able to provide fingerprints to over 200 children and hundreds of families received safety information.

National Missing Children's Day reminds parents, guardians, and other trusted-adult role models to make child safety a priority.
